Derbyshire Dales and High Peak Joint Core Strategy - Draft Plan Details|Derbyshire Dales and High Peak Joint Core Strategy - Draft Plan
- Description:
- The Derbyshire Dales and High Peak Joint Core Strategy is a very important document, as it forms the planning framework for
the Derbyshire Dales and High Peak communities outside of the Peak District National Park for the period up to 2026. Whilst
necessarily conforming to the East Midlands Regional Plan and national policies, this Strategy has sought to address local
needs, especially for housing and economic development, while ensuring that the very special quality of the District’s environment
– both natural and built – are conserved and where possible enhanced.
This draft version of the Joint Core Strategy is available for consultation until 15 July 2010. The draft plan builds on feedback
from previous Core Strategy consultations, including those relating to Issues and Options and Growth Options.
A supporting justification document for the draft Joint Core Strategy is also available by selecting the supporting documents
tab. This outlines the background to the preferred policy approaches.

Derbyshire Dales and High Peak Joint Core Strategy - Growth Options up to 2026 Details|Derbyshire Dales and High Peak Joint Core Strategy - Growth Options up to 2026
- Description:
- In March 2009 in the Core Strategy Issues and Options we asked which towns and villages should accommodate this growth. The
comments we received suggested that
the Market Towns and (some of) the larger villages were the most appropriate locations.
We have been made aware of a range of potential options that may be capable of achieving the level of growth
required around the Market Towns and (some of) the larger villages.
The general locations of these potential development options are shown in this leaflet. It is important to note that they
do not indicate specific sites, nor the likely scale of development.
We want you to tell us which of the options you prefer or if there are any other options that you think may be capable of
achieving the level of growth we have to meet.
